Letter From The War Zone Thanking S0S For Tools

September 20, 2002

We were thrilled recently to receive your Standard of Spirituality Kit. As the Wing Chaplain at the Desert Oasis Chapel, I wanted to write and thank you for your generosity. As we do our best to offer a full chapel program, even here in the desert, your materials will definitely be helpful and benefit the men and women of the United States military in a deployed location.

As you can well imagine, keeping the hearts and minds of these young patriotic troops is more than a full time job. For that reason, we are forever on the lookout for books, videos or other teaching materials that we can use to help our troops in their faith walk. We appreciate receiving your materials, and we have already made them available to our folks.

Again, thank you for your gift. We look forward to all God will do with it.

I am Staff Sergeant Michael J. Connors, one of the many United States troops temporarily assigned overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I am contacting you because service members here have requested that your ministry impart into our spirit man.

As you may know, military chaplains are faced with the daunting task of meeting the spiritual needs of various religions with numerous denominations, hence this request for your support. There are many supporters of your ministries here, and future supporters as well.

Recently, our chapel services implemented a program called Chapel Cinema to show Christian movies as an alternative to regular theater entertainment. In the near future, we also hope to begin a version of a Christian coffee house. The vision for this non-profit coffee house is to provide a source of Christian material like books and cassette tapes as well as have a daily showing of ministering videocassette tapes.

I especially request you help us, your fellow Christian brethren, by providing some of the aforementioned material, preferable material which doesn't place one belief before another, that we may be able to spread the fresh anointed word that God has released in this hour to your ministry. All material with the exception of videos will be placed in a library for the troops to access freely. The videos will be part of the Cinema Ministry and shown in the coffee house during operating hours. Christian movies if you decide to send them would be shown free of charge during Chapel Cinema.

It is absolutely wonderful that the harvest here is so great. But, those of us who are currently in ministry cannot legally conduct services. I believe this is God's way of showing us, that no matter the denomination, we may continue fellowship on one accord with only biblical indoctrination.

God has placed it in my heart to contact your organization and ask your support and prayers. I thank you in advance for your kindness and willingness to assist us in our efforts to promulgate the "Gospel" in this hour of great revelation, anointing and releasing of power by God in this country. It is our mission not only to maintain natural freedom for our great country, but also to release Operation Enduring Freedom in the "Spirit" for God's people. Together we will continue Operation Enduring Kingdom, fighting spiritual terrorism from the enemy!

Sincerely,
Michael J. Connors, SSgt, USAF
