Salvation Army using SOS to train newly enrolled Senior Soldiers
Greetings! Thank you ever so much for your interest in The Salvation Army and souls! AS you know, we are most excited about the partnership we have with SOS and I'm pleased with the great emphasis and efforts the Central Territory has placed on promoting this worthwhile evangelistic tool. I've carefully reviewed the materials and want to report that God is faithfully seeing souls saved as our people minister in the Kingdom here in the great Central Territory. Thank you for sharing the letters of endorsement and packet.
I'm happy to report that many efforts have gone forth in promoting this and other evangelistic tools. In four months God has blessed us with more than 8,675 seekers! I'm sure that SOS has had an important part to play in those who were lost becoming saved. Emphasis of reaching the lost is still our most sacred trust.
Our territory has circulated thousands of copies of the SOS flyers. Within the past few months we included the SOS flyer, a pin and SOS card in a notebook going to 1,000 of our newly enrolled Senior Soldiers. This class is taught at our Training College and the program used by many of our Cadets and newly commissioned officers.
We were pleased to include the SOS curriculum as part of the discipleship training emphasis in our recently revised guidelines. An entire issue of the Evangelism and Corps Growth Department's publication VISION TREK included not only a report on the success of SOS, but promotional information on the product being sold through our trade department. It has been on sale at territorial events, mostly recently the Growing Spiritually Healthy Corps Seminar in January.
With this in mind, I'm convinced that emphasis is being made in the right areas and we are faithfully doing the work the Lord has called us to. Thanks again for your interest in this important endeavor.
Sincerely,
Colonel Philip Swyers
